Nier Releasing Same Day Globally

Square Enix has announced that Nier will hit consoles the world over on 23 April.

Nier, Square-Enix's foray into the action-adventure market, sees players venture into "a world plagued by human anguish, buried secrets and a ravaging disease" in search of a cure to save the daughter of protagonist Nier. Sounds a bit like Bridgwater.

NierNier has swords and armour at his disposal, powerful magic at his command, and allies at his beck and call for his fight against the darkness. We're promised a story that "needs to be seen to be believed," RPG-style character development alongside action-based combat, a "dynamic party of allies," and plenty more.

Nier is due out on Xbox 360 and PS3, worldwide, on 23 April. Check out the latest screenshots over here, and have a look at our first look from E3 for a bit more on the title's background.
