Capcom Announces Increased Profits

Capcom logoCapcom has revealed it increased its year-on-year profits during the past nine months.

While some publishers have been feeling the pinch, like EA for example, it seems others are doing somewhat better. The Japanese publisher today announced that, compared to the same period last year, net sales rose 5.9 per cent while net profit shot up 865 per cent to $19.1 million USD.

Capcom attributed the staggering rise in profits to a corporate tax refund but stressed that commercial hits like the Monster Hunter series, Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney and Resident Evil IV contributed to the rise in net sales, operating income and ordinary income (thanks Edge).

Capcom recently announced its 2010 spring line-up which includes third person action sequel Lost Planet 2 and Super Street Fighter IV.
