The man who claims to have hacked the PS3 is distributing the supposed exploit on the internet.
Earlier this week we reported how George Hotz, the man behind the iPhone 2G hack, had claimed to gain access to the PS3’s system memory and processor.
Now Hotz wants to share his exploit “in the interest of openness.”
“Hopefully, this will ignite the PS3 scene, and you will organize and figure out how to use this to do practical things, like the iPhone when jailbreaks were first released,” he wrote.
“I have a life to get back to and can't keep working on this all day and night.”
We spoke to Sony earlier this week and a spokesperson told us the company is currently investigating Hotz’s claims.
