New Nier Screenshots Show Off Combat

Square Enix has released a new set of screenshots for its forthcoming third-person action-adventure Nier.

The screenshots show off plenty of the action-adventure, which sees the aging Nier travelling the world in search of a cure for his ailing daughter.

As is usual for Square Enix, we're expecting massive swords, bigger monsters, magic, a party of allies, and a highly-polished story. Nier is one of Square Enix's first titles designed specifically for a Western audience, however, with executive producer Yosuke Saito having told IncGamers, while laughing, that he's been too scared to see what the Japanese audience thinks of the title.

Nier is due out on Xbox 360 and PS3 sometime in Spring. Check out these brand new screenshots below.
