Sony has announced that its PlayStation 3 Motion Controller will be coming to Japan, Asia, North America, Europe, and other PAL regions in autumn.
The Motion Controller - amusingly operating under the name of "Motion Controller" for the time being, according to the press release - was previously announced for a Spring 2010 release. No reason has been given for the delay.
The Motion Controller/Sphere/Gem/Arc requires the PlayStation Eye, as has been previously mentioned, and will launch alongside a variety of games that support the new technology.
"We have decided to release the Motion Controller in fall 2010 when we will be able to offer an exciting and varied line-up or software titles that will deliver the new entertainment experience to PS3 users," said Kazuo Hirai, president of Sony Computer Entertainment, who also promised that we'll hear about more Motion Controller-supporting games soon.
We imagine we'll hear a bit more about the name, the supporting titles, and potentially a more concrete date before long.
