Activision CEO, Bobby Kotick, has confirmed the release of the DJ Hero sequel will come this year.
Speaking to Game Informer, Kotick said that he was committed to the IP.
"If you're going to make a commitment to doing something original, the odds are that you're not going to get it right on the first chance."
This, despite the title doing as well as hoped on release. But Kotick is convinced that first game releases never do as well as subsequent releases, citing Infinity Ward, Raven, Neversoft and Treyarch's games as examples.
"I think DJ Hero is a really innovative product. I can't wait for you to see next year's. That's the thing; we're sticking with it. We'll stick with it and get it right. But it's going to be less games, better games. That's our strategy," he said.
So if you enjoyed the first game, you can expect to have more fun with this year's release. No mention of DLC though, so we'll just have to sit tight to find out what the story with expanding the current game is.
