SouthPeak has revealed that it will be publishing 3D Dot Game Heroes in Europe, with a release date in line with the American release.
3D Dot Game Heroes is an Atlus title for the PlayStation 3 which has been clearly inspired by the console RPGs of yore, with the game taking place in the beautiful kingdom of Dotnia.
Except "retro-inspired chip tunes" while you're hacking monsters to bits with your sword and hunting for treasure. Naturally, there are six sages, various orbs, and a whole mess of RPG jokes and references. Amusingly, the charming block-based graphics - eyes right - will also enable you to either customise your character, or build one completely from scratch.
"[SouthPeak Games] recognise the frustration of many European gamers to not get the exciting releases until months after other regions, which is why we're working closely together to deliver a simultaneous launch for North America and Europe," said Atlus' VP of sales and marketing Tim Pivnicny, which is the sort of perspective we like to hear.
There's no news on a concrete date, but the title should hit sometime in May 2010.
