Nintendo has announced that the DSi XL will launch across Europe on 5 March.
The DSi XL, which launched in Japan late last year under the name of the DSi LL, boasts a pair of larger 4.2 inch screens (that's 93% bigger than the DS Lite's screens, apparently) and a larger, pen-like stylus in addition to one of more regular size.
The XL also boasts a wider viewing angle so that when you're playing on the train, bored people sitting nearby will be able to watch your screen surreptitiously without straining their necks. That, or it's to make it a more social experience because your friends and family will be able to see.
Finally, it also comes packed with all of the DSi's new functionality - like the camera, the music player, and the DSiWare service for downloadable games - and a two pieces of DSiWare software to get you started, comprising Dr Kawashima's Little Bit of Brain Training: Arts Edition and Dictionary 6 in 1.
The DSi XL has an RRP of £159.99 GBP, though we imagine most places will be selling it for slightly under that. Will the DSi XL prove to be a hit on launch? We'll find out on 5 March.
