Ubisoft Announces New Titles For 2010-11

The latest financial update from Ubisoft has revealed the publisher's big titles, as well as its focus for its products next year.

In the update, CEO Yves Guillemot stated that some of the company's major titles will be delayed, including Splinter Cell Conviction and RUSE, but also said the publisher will be looking to do more with the Xbox 360 and PS3.

"Against this backdrop and with a view to further reducing our exposure to the DS, we intend to continue to refocus our development resources on our major franchises and on the Xbox360 and PS3, the two consoles which are expected to see sales growth in games for gamers in 2010," said Guillemot.

James Cameron's Avatar: The Game

So the initial line-up for 2010? Well, we'll obviously see Splinter Cell Conviction on the cuff of the year, while it's also been revealed that Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Driving, Raving Rabbids 4 and a new Assassin's Creed online multiplayer mode will arrive in 2010.

We've got no more news on the Driver game, however we have been speculating online multiplayer for Assassin's Creed for a while now, how it would work, how many players it would support and what the setting would be. We're in the process of trying to squeeze as much as we can out of Ubisoft with regards to this, but they're not budging on information. We'll obviously let you know as soon as we do.

Ubisoft will release their full financials at the end of the fiscal year. Already being down by €160m EUR, with Avatar and other casual titles not performing as hoped, Ubisoft will be looking to its big titles to make up operation costs next year.
