Splinter Cell Conviction And RUSE Delayed

Ubisoft has announced the delay of both Splinter Cell Conviction and RUSE in the latest quarterly earnings conference.

Splinter Cell Conviction, due to be released in February, will now hit shelves in April, while RUSE has been put back to "2010-2011" according to the report.

There has been no reason for the delay, but CEO Yves Guillemot has said that there will be more focus on the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms in the 2010-11 year.

Splinter Cell Conviction

Splinter Cell Conviction is the latest in the series of the Splinter Cell games from the Tom Clancy universe, an IP Ubisoft bought at the beginning of 2008.  Since it's announcement, Splinter Cell Conviction has seen a change of name, a change of art direction and delays in order not to conflict with other titles' releases.  The Xbox 360 and PC exclusive will follow the story of Sam Fisher after he's gone renegade in a bid to find his daughter.  You can find out more about Splinter Cell Conviction here.

RUSE, announced early in 2009, is a deceptive RTS.  We were impressed with its game mechanics when we played it.

So Splinter Cell Conviction fans, you're going to have to wait a month or two, while if you've been interested, keen or excited by RUSE, it seems to have deceived you. Or has it? Will it really be out, or not?

No, it really won't.

Really.

Well, it will, but just later than expected.
