Labour’s Keith Vaz has recommended to the British government that video games should carry a health warning.
The Labour MP for Leciester East told the House of Commons yesterday that he believes games should be treated differently to other media due to the level of interactivity, citing the notorious Moscow airport scene in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to support his argument.
“A film with inappropriate content is not interactive,” said Vaz.
“The point about video games, which is backed up by research from America, is that the player is part of the process.
“Players shoot and stab people in a videogame, and that is different. I accept that inappropriate content is wrong, wherever it is found, but videogames are different.”
