Microsoft has revealed that Natal will be out this holiday season, and will run at 30 frames per second.
The news comes from the Consumer Electronics Show, with Microsoft revealing that Natal will be out, worldwide, during "holiday 2010."
We knew it was coming out this year from the leaked announcement last night, but this extra bit of info confirms what we already suspected: that it would be out towards the end of the year.
The other news, spotted by IGN, is that Natal will run at 30 frames per second. Principal researcher for Microsoft Research Andrew Fitzgibbon was the one talking specifics about the device, saying "What Natal does, is it evaluates effectively trilliions of body configurations every frame. We've made it do that 30 times a second."
This doesn't necessarily mean that the games themselves will have to run at 30 frames per second - just that the technology can only accept that many inputs from the user's body each second.
Other news from the CES includes the announcement of the Xbox Game Room, an arcade-like environment for Avatars with a load of retro-styled games.
