Nintendo has announced that its DS has become the best selling console of all time in Europe, after selling 40 million units since March 2005, when the first model was launched.
In five years, the pocket-sized gadget has morphed from the DS to the DS Lite, and now the DSi, and is still proving popular with gamers.
Nintendo also reports that its other console, the Wii, is doing well too, with 20 million units sold since 2006, making it the fastest selling console in Europe. Almost half the Wii owners in Europe own a Wii Fit game, and other titles have performed well too, such as Wii Sports Resort with around five million sales in five months.
