SEGA Giving Up On Mature Wii Titles?

SEGA is unlikely to create more mature Wii titles following Dead Space: Extraction's poor performance on the system.

Speaking on the 1UP "4 Guys" podcast, SEGA's Constantine Hantzopoulos said that he was "stunned" by how badly EA's Dead Space: Extraction performed at retail, and that it makes it unlikely that SEGA will develop more mature titles for the system.

Madworld"Are we going to do more mature titles for the Wii?" Hantzopoulos asked, rhetorically. "Probably not. Look at Dead Space [Extraction]. We were stunned. That was my litmus test. Basically, it's like, okay, you got EA, who can put all the marketing muscle behind this, an established franchise that scored quite well on 360 and PS3. They should be able to actually hit this out of the park, right? We get numbers, real numbers aside from NPD, and I'm like, whoa."

Which is a shame, as House of the Dead: Overkill and Madworld were both really quite enjoyable. Boo.
