Mass Effect 2 Will Have New Game Plus

BioWare has confirmed that there will be a New Game Plus mode in highly anticipated game, Mass Effect 2 (ME2).

New Game Plus is a system that allows players to play the game from the beginning with the same character and retain all their abilities, adding replayablity value to the game.

This gaming option was originally going to be ditched because of the complexity of the game's narrative, with decisions made by the player making it a bit of a confused chicken when importing saved game files from ME to ME2 (and eventually ME3).

According to a post on the ME community forums, community coordinator, Chris Priestly said the decision to add the New Game Plus was made because it "was a valuable addition to the game then looked at ways of implementing it back into the game. After thorough design and testing we felt that the feature was ready to be placed back into Mass Effect 2 and implemented it again."

For those of you who aren't interested in going back and playing the game again however, you can always just go back to the game world and "tie up any loose ends you may want to finish up," said Priestly; without the help of New Game Plus.

We're very excited about Mass Effect 2 and we'll have a review for you as soon as it gets here, but you can expect to pick it up on 29 January.
