Vagrant Story Hits PSN Next Week

Square-Enix has announced that critically-acclaimed RPG Vagrant Story will hit be available on the European PlayStation Store next week.

Vagrant Story, due on the PlayStation Store on 22 December, gives players control of Riskbreaker Ashley Riot as he investigates the link between a cult leader and a parliament member, and - as you'd expect - it's not long before all hell breaks loose, with the undead and Ashley's past tying into the plot of cults and politics.

Vagrant Story boasts a pseudo-action combat system, allowing players to target specific limbs of enemies and forcing players to tap buttons in succession, as with a rhythm-action game, in order to inflict larger combos. Ashley can also craft new weapons and armour, and customise old gear, with the workshops in the city, allowing him to build weapons for specific encounters.

It's going to cost a mere €5.99 EUR, and we imagine plenty will be looking to pick it up - it's become something of a cult hit following its release back in 2000, and it also has the honour of being one of the few games awarded 40/40 by Japanese mag Famitsu.
