Bohemia Interactive and IDEA Games have announced details of the next patch for ArmA 2.
The v1.05 patch will apparently feature a brand new bonus campaign, Eagle Wing which expands on one of the seven endings in ArmA 2 with two new levels.
Eagle Wing takes place in 2010 with the Chernarus situation having escalated into a conflict between the USA and Russian Federation. The player will have to pilot an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter and attack behind enemy lines. “However, the situation is about to change rapidly,” reads the press release.
That’s not all though, folks, as the patch will also add a brand new multiplayer game mode to ArmA 2, When Diplomacy Fails. The mode adds a strategy element to the game, allowing the player to take on the role of commander, giving orders to other players as well as managing resources at the base. Of course, you can also choose to jump into the action on the frontline at any time and you can also lead your own squad.
“At Bohemia Interactive we make a continuous commitment to support our products,” said Bohemia’s Marek Spanel.
“This latest update 1.05 reaffirms our commitment to ARMA 2 and our community at large: it includes the free downloadable content as our way of saying thank you to all those who buy our games and provide us support and feedback from around the globe. We continue to be amazed by the many ways our community is constantly expanding on our game with addons, mods and usermade missions. With this level of continued activity surrounding our game it's our pleasure to be able to support it this extensively post-launch.”
The patch is due for release later this month.
