Nintendo has broken the console sales record in the UK with the DS, surpassing the 10.02 million mark set by Sony's PS2.
According to GfK-ChartTrack data as seen on MCV, the DS broke the record in week 47 of this year with 10.05 million UK sales so far.
The PS2 went on sale in the UK in November of 2000, whereas the DS has been on sale for around half that time and still has the Christmas period ahead of it. Apparently, one in six people in the UK currenly own a DS, with around 5,700 units being sold per day.
