Yakuza 3 Dated For The West

Yakuza 3 has been dated for release in western territories.

This isn't a lie, nor is it rumour or conjecture: Sega has announced that Yakuza 3 will hit the US, Europe, and Australia in March 2010.

Yakuza 3 has had a storied history, with constant rumours, denials, and then denials of denials as to whether or not it would ever be released outside of Japan. Now we know that, yes, we'll be able to take on the role of Kiryu Kazama once more.

General ScreenshotThis time, Kazama is running an orphanage on Okinawa - but his peaceful life is perhaps inevitably shattered as he gets dragged into the shadowy Yakuza underworld once more.

Yakuza 3 plays out in an open-world fashion. You can visit nightclubs and restaurants or wander the streets, and when you get into fights, they'll play out in brawler style. Grab objects to use as weapons, or take enemies down with your fists. All of the dialogue in the western releases will be in Japanese with English subtitles, so expect high-quality voice acting that you can't understand.

We can't wait, and the good news is that we don't have to wait long. March 2010, people.
