Sony has announced another GT Academy event will take place this month, allowing users to get their hands on the highly-anticipated Gran Turismo 5.
GT Academy 2010 launches on 17 December with a downloadable time trial featuring two versions of the Nissan 370Z: one race-tuned “monster” and another “only slightly less fearsome non-tuned version.”
In order to gain entry to the academy, players will have to record a hot lap on a specially-created section of circuit from a brand new GT5 track. The best time will be a composite of your two times: one in the tuned 370Z, one in the non-tuned version.
If you qualify in the top twenty for your country you’ll be invited to a national final where you’ll fight for one of twenty GT Academy places. The two best drivers will then endure an intensive driver training schedule before the GT Academy ace is crowned.
The trial runs from 17 December to midnight on 24 January 2010.
