EA is planning to cut the number of titles it releases next year from around 50 to 40, according to its chief executive.
John Riccitiello said the reduction will take place in the next fiscal year, but went on to state that the number may go down even further. "Thirty wouldn't shock me at some point in the future," he said, while speaking to Reuters yesterday. Apparently, this will aid company's plans to focus on quality games.
These cuts follow recent reports that EA slashed 1,500 jobs in an effort to lower costs, after the $300m USD acquisition of social gaming company Playfish.
