Reports indicate that composer Akira Yamaoka has left Konami.
According to a "contact at Konami Japan" speaking to Aeropause, Akira Yamaoka - a composer best known for his work on Silent Hill – has left Konami, after 16 years.
No reason was given, although Aeropause note that Yamaoka has reportedly left the company entirely, rather than moving
to another international division. Still, there's no official confirmation, so take this with a pinch of salt.
The music and ambient sound is a large part of the Silent Hill game experience, and if these reports are accurate, it's going to be hard to imagine what the atmosphere of Silent Hill games will be like in future.
Reports that Randy Newman is interested in scoring the next Silent Hill game have been entirely fabricated by us.
