Sony has revealed that PS3s are already capable of 3D gaming, the consoles just need a firmware upgrade to enable it.
The news emerged during a presentation to investors, where Sony confirmed that the hardware is already in place. The company said it intends to lead the 3D market, and went on to reveal plans to provide 3D developers tools for making games on the PS3.
This comes after news that Sony hopes to have 3D TV in people's homes by the end of next year. Sony joins the list of other companies who are developing and manufacturing 3D TVs, including Philips, LG, Hyundai and Panasonic.
