Aion Sales Near One Million

Almost one million copies of Aion have been sold in the west, according to the latest NCsoft earnings report.

The Q3 report shows that 500,000 copies of the MMO have been sold in North America and a further 470,000 in Europe. Aion now accounts for half of NCsoft's sales, which have doubled in the last year.

There were early indications that Aion was going to be popular when NCsoft announced 400,000 pre-orders had been made back in September.

The game has been out in Asia since last year and is still doing well. Unlike other games that were designed for the eastern market then ported over to the west, Aion was designed for both markets. However, we'll see just how well it's doing in the coming weeks after the initial free periods have ended.
