IncGamers has learned that the story of Assassin's Creed 2 will span over 20 years .

The sequel to the highly-acclaimed game released in 2007 will see a brand new assassin in the shape of charming and flamboyant nobleman, Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

To add depth to the game and give you more of an emotional connection with your latest ancestor, Assassin's Creed 2 shows you the birth of Ezio before transporting you 17 years into the future depicting a rowdy and mischievous young man.

Benoit Lambert, game director for Assassin's Creed 2, has told IncGamers that you'll play Ezio over a period of years.

"I love the fact that we have this guy going from 17 years old to 40 years old or more."

In this time Ezio will meet Leonardo Da Vinci, the Pope and many other influential figures from the Renaissance period.

So, with over 20 years to play in the game, it might be worth brushing up on your Renaissance history in order to see how factually accurate the game really is...!
