DICE has revealed Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will include two brand new multiplayer modes.
In an interview with IncGamers, Dice’s Gordon Van Dyke let slip that the new modes will focus on teamwork.
“[W]e also have two new game modes that we're not disclosing all the details about – but I will say that it's completely based and focused on squad play,” he said.
“That, I think, is going to take it to the next level, and people really need to stay on the lookout for when we release those details.”
V
an Dyke also revealed how the new squad system in Bad Company 2 will work.
“We've actually focused on that [the squad mechanic] and made huge improvements to that area to make it more unique to the characters,” he explained.
“So two guys can squad up together and they can lock that squad and make it private, so that they can focus on playing together as a team. They don't have to have four people, and they can also manage that team so they can join together and create their own squad.
“You're no longer forced into a squad like in Bad Company 1. It's very similar to what we did in 1943.”
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is due for release on 2 March in North America and 5 March in the EU.
