Bad Company 2 Beta Coming Eventually

EA has revealed that we should be hearing more details on a beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 soon.

Earlier this week, Gamestop claimed that it was offering "free overnight shipping, plus access to the Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta beginning November 19th, 11 PM PST" for those who pre-ordered the PS3 version of the game within the next 24 hours.

This was quickly followed by the official Bad Company 2 Twitter feed stating otherwise: "Do not preorder #BFBC2 from anyone for a Beta code until it's confirmed by DICE on Twitter and the Blog. Even if it's #Gamestop!!!!"

Which seemed to put an end to the matter, with a Tweet like that making the whole thing seem rather unlikely. Now, however, an EA spokesperson has told Blend Games that beta details will arrive later this week. Thanks, BluesNews.

There's no word on how accurate Gamestop's details were, though; we still don't know if if the beta will be arriving on 19 November, whether it will be US-exclusive, whether it will be for PS3 or other platforms too, or what. We'll have to wait and see. Still, it's good to know that a public beta is seemingly in the works.
