First Natural Selection 2 Screenshots Released

Unknown Worlds has released the first screenshots of Natural Selection 2.

The upcoming first-person shooter/real-time strategy hybrid pits marines against aliens. No matter which side you're on, one player acts as Commander - with the ability to research upgrades, collect resources, build structures, and the like - while the rest play as the soldiers/slathering bio-beasties on the front line.

The first game was a wildly popular mod for Half-Life, but the sequel is a bit more commercial, and a lot more current-gen. Check out the screenshots below to see what we mean. If it sounds appealing, be sure to check out the official site for more info.

Natural Selection 2 is due out for Windows, Linux, OS X, and Xbox 360 sometime in 2010.
