Naughty Dog has released a multiplayer-centric patch for Uncharted 2.
It's not all about the multiplayer, of course, but looking at the feature list below (courtesy of the EU PlayStation Blog) it's clear where a lot of the focus has gone.
- Addressed respawn points when the artifact goes out of bounds in the Plunder gametype
- Dynamically adjust the win condition for fewer players during the course of a match
- Added features to deter players from voluntarily leaving during a match
- Added rate limit to “When a Chapter is Completed” Twitter event
Fixed a display issue during letterboxing- Fixed Danish Trophy description
- Fixed screenshot utility in standard definition resolutions
- Fixed the “Players Met” list not displaying recent players
- Addressed a variety of Multiplayer connectivity issues
Apparently, there are other changes too, which have been "withheld to protect the innocent." Cheat and exploit fixes? Hmm. Either way, you should be able to download the patch in all territories barring Asia and Japan right now. Those patches will hit next week.
That's not all, though. In celebration of Halloween, Uncharted 2 has its first Double Cash Weekend in multiplayer. This doubles the cash awarded for "completing typical game actions - not medal-related currency awards - giving everyone a leg up in increasing their Rank for a limited time." This is across both Competitive and Co-op modes, we're told, and will run until 6pm on 2 November. That's tomorrow.
Oh, and if you see a player online with a red paw next to their name, it's a Naughty Dog staffer.
Andy absolutely adored Uncharted 2 when it hit a few short weeks ago. If you haven't picked it up, you should really consider it, particularly since there's news that DLC - both free and premium - will be out by the end of the year.
