Nintendo Announces DSi LL/DSi XL

General ScreenshotNintendo has announced the DSi LL.

The DSi LL is, as you might have guessed from the name, is a revised DSi - it's bigger, specifically, with a 4.2 inch screen.

This makes the screen 93 per cent bigger than the one on the DS Lite, but it'll still run at the same resolution. The idea, according to Kotaku, is that the bigger screen will be of more use to those who want to use their DSi as a music player or internet browser. Perhaps it'd also help get more grandmothers into Brain Training? Not that I'm implying grandmothers everywhere have bad eyesight, or anything.

The DSi LL features two styluses. One is the regular size, while the other is a "touch pen," measuring 129.3mm. In addition to this, the system comes with three DSiWare programs installed (two Brain Training titles, and DS Easy Dictionary) and will hit stores in three colours: Dark Brown, Wine Red, and Natural White.

The DSi LL is due out in Japan on 21 November at the price of ¥20,000 JPY - and, according to VG247, it'll hit Europe in Q1 2010 under the name of the DSi XL, but at a higher price than the standard DSi.
