DSi Exclusive Ghostwire Announced

General ScreenshotMajesco has announced that it will be publishing Ghostwire: A Link to the Paranormal for Nintendo DSi.

The "i" at the end of "DS" is a critical thing, there, as Ghostwire will not function on the regular Nintendo DS. The game, being developed by A Different World, uses the DSi's camera to find ghosts.

Players have to find and capture ghosts, using the DSi camera and Ghostwire's "Ghost Tuner" to locate the spirits, hidden "beyond the standard Wi-Fi range." Spirits, shadows, and demons all have their own personalities, it seems, and "solving" them could be tricky.

These personalities range from shy to evil, with some refusing to even speak to the player unless you bring them something they want - and things like time of day and light levels will impact the way things go, too. Thankfully, you've got a whole host of upgradeable equipment.

The idea seems to be that you'll wander around the real world "finding" ghosts using the DSi's camera and the game, and then solve puzzles related to them. Sounds like a brilliant idea to us - augmented reality is always interesting.

However, it's a way off, with the DSi-exclusive not due out until late 2010. We'll keep you updated on all the spooky happenings as we see them, though.
