Major Nelson has confirmed unauthorised storage devices will not work when the next dashboard update is released.
As we know when the update goes live on 17 November Facebook and Twitter support will be included, along with Last.FM, dedicated music game stores and a news channel.
However Major Nelson has revealed another new feature which will make gamers use either the official hard-drive or memory stick.
"One of the changes is that unauthorised Memory Units will no longer work with the Xbox 360...If you continue to use an unauthorized Memory Unit after the update, you will not be able to access your stored profile or saved games," a statement read on Major Nelson's website.
Looks like Microsoft is clamping down on the unofficial storage devices and will once again have freedom to charge however much they wish for them, or is that me just being cynical? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
