GPU manufacturer nVidia has won the contract to provide a chip for the successor to the Nintendo DS.
An inside source has reportedly informed Bright Side of News (thanks, Kotaku) that Nintendo is planning on using the Tegra System-on-Chip processor, following nVidia's winning the contract to provide chips for the device.
There isn't much else in the way of detail, but this likely ties into nVidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang's comments that he expects to attribute 50% of nVidia's revenue to Tegra over the next few years.
We're still a way off from specifics, but it's interesting to note that Nintendo has apparently started work on the successor to the DS/DSi, and expects to announce it in late 2010.
More as we get it.
