Ready At Dawn Working On New Engine

California-based developer Ready At Dawn has announced it is working on a new middleware game engine.

The imaginatively-titled Ready at Dawn Engine will be a “complete game development platform” for the PSP, PS3 and Xbox 360.

"We are building something for developers who are tired of the challenges of PC engines shoe-horned into consoles, or trying to stitch together layers upon layers of middleware from multiple vendors,” said Ready at Dawn’s Didier Malenfant. 

“Our solution will be a complete game development platform that simply works."

Malenfant told GamaSutra that the engine will be complete in “the next few weeks.”

Ready at Dawn, which includes former members of Naughty Dog and Blizzard, has previously worked on the PSP title God of War: Chains of Olympus and the Wii version of Okami.
