Glen Hoddle Academy For Football Manager 2010

Sega has announced Football Manager 2010 will feature the Glenn Hoddle Football Academy.

All of the players currently in the academy will be included in the game’s enormous database of licensed players and clubs. Hoddle’s academy is the first fully independent player development centre, designed to give talented players released by clubs another chance at playing professionally.

“To have the Glenn Hoddle Academy Club in Football Manager 2010 is fantastic,” said Hoddle.

“We have been working hard with the team at Football Manager to make this happen and we are delighted to be the first professional football development centre in the world to become part of the ever expanding game.

"Our players are all talented professionals, released initially from senior clubs across Europe. They spend time developing their skills in Spain and they play regular fixtures against senior European opposition, including Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid, on a regular basis. To have our squad included in Football Manager 2010 alongside their peers in the professional game, as part of this season's new features, will I am sure add a new dimension for the game."

Hoddle served as England manager from 1996 to 1999 during which time he brought in a faith healer and suggested that disabled people were being punished by the forces of fate for past life indiscretions. 

“What you sew, you have to reap,” said Hoddle at the time, presumably unaware of the irony. 

Football Manager 2010 is due for release on 30 October for PC and Mac.
