Army Of Two: The 40th Day Composer Announced

Army of Two: The 40th Day

EA has announced that Tyler Bates will create the score for Army of Two sequel, The 40th Day.

Bates is the latest snag from the film industry, as more and more Hollywood talent make the games industry their second home. Having created the score for 300 and Watchmen, EA is hoping Bates will be able to craft an immersive score which will move players and compliment the story.

The co-operative shooter sequel is set in Shanghai and, like the game that came before it, requires players to work together in order to be successful. Tyler has allegedly "examined every part of the game and how players will move through the world to craft a score that truly represents their actions and the chaos unfolding around them," according to Lewis James, audio director.

And Tyler seems to be happy with scoring the game too, saying it is "one of the most intense games" he's seen, and that he's excited to be creating an "intense and dramatic score."

The story follows Salem and Rios again, the private military contractors who were so captivating in the first game (that's sarcasm by the way). Now they've got to stop a series of a carefully choreographed catastrophes [holy alliteration, Batman - Ed] destroying Shanghai.

Although not yet rated, the game is due for release 8 January in Europe, and 12 January in North America on the 360, PS3 and PSP.

If you're excited, please do comment...
