Rock Band Music Store Becoming A Brutal Legend

Brutal LegendThis week's Rock Band music store update includes three tracks with a distinctive Brutal Legend theme.

Ten tracks are up on the Wii/360/PS3 store this week, with three metal songs making up the Brutal Legend Track Pack. How metal are they? They're so metal that one of them has "metal" in the name. Ahem.

In honour of this, Brutal Legend designer and Double Fine founder Tim Schafer has commented on the inclusion of the tracks. "These are three great songs that totally capture the feeling of Brutal Legend," says Schafer. "I've air-drummed to all of them so many times, I'm sure I'll be able to beat them on hard mode, no problem. Or at least on medium. Like medium plus. That's a setting, right?"

Read on for the tracklisting.

  • Motörhead - (We Are) The Road Crew '08*
  • Tenacious D - The Metal*
  • Testament - More Than Meets The Eye*
  • Black Tide - Show Me the Way
  • Blink-182 - What's My Age Again?
  • Joe Satriani - Satch Boogie
  • Joe Satriani - Surfing with the Alien
  • Kansas - Icarus (Borne on the Wings of Steel) (Live from Two for the Show)
  • Kansas - Point of Know Return (Live from Two for the Show)
  • L7 - Andres

The Brutal Legend Track Pack is made up of the three songs followed by asterisks. That pack will cost you £2.49 GBP/440 Microsoft Points, apparently, while everything else will cost £0.99 GBP/160 Microsoft Points. Expect them on Wii and 360 on 13 October and on PS3 on 15 October.

The PSP gets a bit of love this week, too, with the following two tracks for Rock Band Unplugged:

  • Pearl Jam - Jeremy
  • Foreigner - Headknocker

Those will be £0.99 GBP each when they're made available on 15 October.
