Shenmue's Ryo Hazuki will be a playable character in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.
This marks Ryo's first playable appearance in any game since 2001's Shenmue 2, which didn't close off the trilogy. Hopes of a Shenmue revival and sequel, maybe? Please? Sega? Are you listening? Hello?
Ryo will be racing around the Sega-themed tracks against other Sega-themed opponents on his motorbike, but his All-Star move switches things around and plonks him into the forklift truck from the Shenmue games, letting him ram people out of the way.
This is true. Really. You can check out the trailer below for proof, and have a look at the game's announcement for more details, like the fact that it's coming out on 360, PS3, Wii, and DS in 2010. Hopefully there's a minigame that lets you ask people where you can find some sailors.
