Love Alpha Program Begins

General ScreenshotThe one-man-team (not so)MMO, Love, has begun its open alpha testing, and players can now apply to take part.

The game, developed entirely by Eskil Steenberg, is a free-building persistent MMO. He describes it an 'an experiment in how games can be developed drastically more efficient using technologies like Verse, procedural generation, new tools and a host of other clever solutions.'

If that hasn't got you curious, here are a few more facts about the game;

It's a self-described “not so” massively multi-player online game with a concept art look (see images). It features editable environments from within the game, anything you see can be built or destroyed. Characters are more like robots that react to the environment. Love also features weather, day and night.

The business model will be pay to play, but the price is yet to be determined.

General ScreenshotIf you'd like to check out the alpha and help Eskil by giving feedback on this interesting game, visit the official site, where you can download the client and make sure it works on your machine before joining the Alpha. This is important because a small fee of €3 EUR is required to pay for the server use and bandwidth.

Find out more about the game and how Eskil has put it together at the Love site.
