WoW: Icecrown Citadel Information Released

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich KingBlizzard has released brand new information on World of Warcraft's upcoming patch 3.3, where players will go up against the Lich King himself.

Alongside the Icecrown Citadel raid encounter, there will be a massive 5-man dungeon, consisting of three separate wings built into the foundations of the Citadel. Alliance players will be led by Jaina Proudmoore and Horde players will follow the leader of the Forsaken, Sylvanas Windrunner.

Participation in the instances is part in an epic questline where characters must complete one wing before continuing on to the next; each wing counts as a separate instance. As usual, there will be normal and heroic versions of these instances, the normal versions will drop loot roughly equivalent to the loot from 25 man raids when Wrath of the Lich King first came out, heroic versions will reward players with gear that is only slightly inferior to the best gear in the game currently.

The three wings will be The Forge of Souls, the Pit of Saron and the Halls of Reflection, where players will face the Lich King himself. Lets hope they leave something of him for the big raid encounter, eh?
