Vandal Hearts Screenshots Detail Environments

New screenshots for Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment come with details on the environments players will be fighting in.

The forthcoming Xbox LIVE Arcade/PlayStation Network turn-based strategy title - due out in "winter" - will see players battling their foes in a variety of areas, some of which have now been detailed.

You can read up on each of the areas revealed here, with screenshots at the bottom showing them off.

First up is the Church of Restoration, which - following the Great War - acted as part orphanage, part school, but with coffers running low the Church now only accepts the best and brightest.

Next is Koth's Whip River, named for an ancient warlord, which once provided the water supply for two nations but has since largely run dry with battles taking place over what resources remain.

Third is Fort Pelagius, one of the last garrisons of the Great War that hasn't been rendered into firewood and is now home to bandit lord Kelbrun Hale who raids the nearby villages from the safety of its walls.

Fourth are the Dread Caverns, originally intended as an underground highway called the Path of Unity made to link three nations - but political tensions led to a halt in the construction. Now, despite the "vast wealth" in there, there are rumours of dark creatures and ghosts lurking within.

Fifth is Timion Vale - the final battleground of the Great War, with tens of thousands lying dead even before the disaster that murdered most of the rest. No-one goes there anymore, apparently, with tales of the undead keeping people at bay.

Finally, there's The Unknown, a realm "outside" of the mortal world which renders the few who have ever returned completely and utterly mad.
