Ultima Online Welcomes Back Old Players

General ScreenshotIn celebration of the 12th anniversary of Ultima Online, Mythic Entertainment is offering all former players free play through 16 October.

This means that all closed and inactive accounts will be reactivated, with players able to log in with their old usernames and passwords. That's assuming your account is in good standing, anyway - we don't expect those who've been kicked out of the game to be extended the same offer.

The latest Ultima Online expansion, Stygian Abyss, was released earlier this month and adds in the playable Gargoyle race in addition to the titular Stygian Abyss - the largest dungeon ever added to Ultima Online, as well as the setting for the 1992 first-person RPG Ultima Underworld.

Old hands wanting to get back into UO can download the client here, while those who have forgotten their login details will likely want to head over to EA's support site to retrieve them first.
