STO: Discovery Class Revealed

Cryptic Studios has unveiled a new class of ship for Starfleet in its upcoming MMO, Star Trek Online.

The Discovery class is a long-range science vessel, inspired by the Intrepid class which was made famous by Voyager. Like Voyager, Discovery class ships are capable of long missions without Starfleet support, however, they are equally as effective as a patrol or fleet support vessel. Their lack of firepower is replaced with a technological advantage over most ships; an advanced sensor array and targeting system means it's unlike any ship will escape detection by a Discovery.
