WoW Resumes in China

World of WarcraftWorld of Warcraft's new operators in China, NetEase, has opened the game up to players again after more than three months of down-time.

When the game changed hands from former operators, The9, to Netease back in June, it was hoped the process would be a swift one. However, problems arose when NetEase had to re-submit the game to China's General Administration of Press and Publications. Several revisions have had to be made to the game to make it suitable for Chinese players, such as the removal of all images containing severed heads. It was also rumoured that Blizzard and NetEase's business arrangement was under investigation, something that NetEase denied.

WoW players can now once again purchase game time and get back on the servers. The second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, which launched in Europe and NA in November last year, is still under review by the GAPP.
