The 2D version of the Spore Creature Creator is online and ready to create freaks of nature that should not be.

The new Creature Creator is presumably the one that will feature in the Spore titles coming to Wii and DS later this year, and as it's entirely in 2D, you can play with it in your browser right here.

There are plenty of options on offer and you can create all manner of weird and wonderful beasts and then, best of all, you can email them to your friends, which is going to turn out exactly as you'd expect. That's right: Andy will be buried in anthropomorphic penises in about five minutes.

We thought Spore was enjoyable but flawed when it came out last year. Let's hope that the team behind Spore Hero have learned from the mistakes made.
