The Xbox LIVE enforcement team has announced that it's going to be targeting players who have cheated on Shadow Complex.
Unsurprisingly, no details on the cheats themselves are forthcoming, but it seems like those who used unfair methods to raise their score will have a number of actions taken against them as they've "not only violated the spirit of the game, but they have also violated the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use."
Players verified as cheaters will initially be removed from the Shadow Complex leaderboard. Following this, the Xbox LIVE enforcement team will investigate individual players removed from the boards to see if their actions warrant a reset of their Gamerscore; if so, all games will be reset, not just Shadow Complex, and their profiles will be marked with "Cheater" on their profile across the entire Xbox network, both on the site and on the dashboard.
Which seems fair enough, depending on what counts as a cheat. In a game like Shadow Complex, sequence breaking - the art of completing game objectives out of order, often resulting in skipping entire sections - is all part of the fun, but the LIVE enforcement team has historically been pretty fair.
