Cryptic Studios' long-awaited superhero MMO, Champions Online, launches in the UK today.

The highly anticipated game, which has already proven a hit with US players, finally goes on sale to players this side of the pond. The game hit the headlines last week when Cryptic sold out of the limited number of cut-price lifetime and six month subscriptions, leaving many fans disappointed. However, following the outcry the deal was swiftly opened again with an unlimited number of subscriptions available to fans.

Players also grumbled about a patch that was applied to the game when it launched in the US on Tuesday, but Cryptic was quick to respond to that too, addressing the main issues that players had with the changes.
