Sony has announced that a co
mpilation of the first two God of War games will be hitting the PlayStation 3.
"Reworked" versions of both God of War and God of War II will appear on the PS3 sometime this Christmas on a single Blu-Ray disc.
By "reworked," we're told that both games are updated to run in glorious anti-aliased 720p at 60fps on your shiny HDTVs. If you're not a tech person, then just understand that it should look rather spiffy.
Not only that, but the games will also have Trophy support. Nice.
The first God of War game featured Kratos, the Ghost of Sparta and all-round unpleasant psychopath, on a quest to destroy Ares - the titular god of war - while the sequel saw him get involved in battle with a few more gods as he sought to change his fate.
This, of course, comes a few short months before the March 2010 release of God of War 3, which many believed would be Kratos' first outing on the PS3. You can check out an interview with God of War 3's director Stig Asmussen over here, or check out some details and screens of from E3 here.
No word on whether we'll see this compilation (listed at $39.99 USD) in the UK, or if it'll be released around the same time if so, but we'll keep you posted.
