Nintendo has revealed that Wii Sports Resort has sold over three million copies across the US, Europe, and Japan since launch.
The game, which launched late July in most territories, has now sold more than one million copies in the US, Europe, and Japan - each. This follows on from reports we heard two weeks after launch that the game, bundling Nintendo's newest motion-sensing peripheral, had sold 600,000 copies.
Not only that, but internal sales figures at Nintendo indicate that over two million MotionPlus accessories have been sold in the US alone (counting those bundled with Wii Sports Resort and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, as well as those sold stand-alone.)
We find it a tad odd that the US has sold a similar number of units to a smaller region like Japan, but then, we suppose the Japanese market for the MotionPlus might be a bit bigger.
Either way, it looks like the Wii is still fairly unstoppable. Wii Sports Resort was a great little game, and its position in the recent charts has reflected this.
