THQ has revealed the first features in WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010.
The main theme for this year's title will be wrestler creation and customisation with many of the main elements of the game being customisable.
Create-a-superstar has been redesigned with a new interface, graphical improvements and additional clothing items. Also a new paint tool will be included, allowing you to create your own original tattoos, logos and unique designs.
The GM mode of past games returns in a new form called WWE Story Designer. In this mode you will be able to create your own cards and storylines adding cutscenes, locations, changing camera angles, adding speech through text and also deciding if someone interferes in the match. With this feature gamers will be able to make their own WWE cards and create fantasy match ups and storylines.
Create a Finisher returns after making its debut last year. Along with more animations for the front grapple finisher players will have the opportunity to create new finishers from a different location. Top rope finishers have been introduced allowing you to create your own high flying finishing attack.
Alongside the customisation options, a new community feature will be implemented into SD vs RAW 2010 allowing players to upload their new created content. This includes superstars, created storylines, highlight reels, entrances, and finishing moves online for other gamers to download and enjoy. This feature is exclusive for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.
The Road to Wrestlemania mode returns with new storylines including a first-ever Divas (that's women apparently) storyline and a create-a-superstar storyline too.
For the first time in the series' history you will also be able to create alternative ring gear for the current roster featured in the game. New attire will be available to use in offline or online modes and allows you to create unique new costumes for your favourite WWE Superstars.
The Nintendo DS version has been revamped with THQ nixing the use of the stylus and relying on the face buttons instead. A collectible card system will be included in the DS version giving players power ups and new arenas, the cards will also be tradable with other people through a Wifi connection. In addition, the Amublance Match will make its debut for the handheld version where you will have to put your opponent into the back of an ambulance to be declared the winner.
THQ has announced a US release date with the title coming out on Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo Wii, PS2, PSP and DS on 20 October. No news on the European launch date.
